Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Parichaya and how we work.

Parichaya is a registered non-governmental organisation (NGO) based in Sambalpur, Odisha, working for the welfare of destitute, abandoned, and mentally ill individuals found on the streets, roads, and railway stations across India. We provide emergency rescue, food, shelter, medical care, family tracing, and rehabilitation — with the goal of restoring dignity and identity to every individual we serve.
Parichaya was founded in 2015 in Sambalpur, Odisha, after the founder witnessed a mentally distressed individual living on the streets with no support or care.
We help destitute and mentally ill individuals found on the streets — including those who are elderly, abandoned, suffering from mental illness, or simply lost and unable to find their way home.
Our headquarters are in Sambalpur, Odisha. However, our operations span across Odisha and extend to other states across India.
