An Identity for Homeless
Rescuing, Rehabilitating, and Reconnecting Destitute Lives Across India
Since 2015, Parichaya has brought hope to over 700 vulnerable individuals — providing emergency rescue, shelter, healthcare, and family reunification to those abandoned and forgotten.
Parichaya is a non-governmental and non-political organisation registered under the Societies Registration Act, 1860, working for the welfare of destitute and mentally ill people found on the streets, roads, and railway stations across India. We believe that every human being — regardless of their condition — deserves to be treated with dignity, given a name, and offered a chance to heal and return to their loved ones.
Our work begins the moment we find someone in need and does not end until they are safely sheltered, medically supported, and — wherever possible — reunited with their family. We are driven not by charity alone, but by a deep conviction that every forgotten soul deserves an identity — a Parichaya.
To seek out destitute and mentally ill individuals abandoned on India's streets, and walk alongside them — providing emergency rescue, food, shelter, medical care, and identity — until they find their way back to dignity and family.

"Every forgotten soul deserves an identity — a Parichaya."
We approach every individual with empathy, patience, and unconditional care — treating every rescued person as a member of our own family.
We believe that every human being, regardless of their condition or appearance, deserves to be treated with honour, respect, and kindness.
Our work is driven by the spirit of selfless service — we show up not for recognition, but because it is the right thing to do.
We believe no situation is beyond recovery. Every rescue is an act of hope — a reminder that a better life is always possible, no matter how long someone has been forgotten.
If you see a destitute or mentally distressed person on the street, at a railway station, or at a bus stand — report it to us immediately. Our team responds within 24 hours.
